Warwickshire v Gloucestershire

Ian Harvey made history with the first century in Twenty20 cricket. Harvey, usually known for his bowling, smashed 13 fours and 4 sixes in his 100* off just 50 balls as Gloucestershire emphatically maintained their 100% record with victory over Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Earlier Mike Smith's spell of four overs cost just 11 runs, the most economical thus far in Twenty20. Johnathan Trott scored 65* but Warwickshire's were restricted to a modest 134-7 - all of which makes Harvey's achievement all the more remarkable!

Glamorgan v Worcestershire

Elsewhere in the Midlands/West/Wales group Matthew Maynard (72) and Michael Powell (66*) helped Glamorgan post a testing 170-4 in Cardiff. Robert Croft then took 3-32 as Worcestershire crumbled to 114 all out giving the Welsh county their first victory in the competition.

Shaun Moore, with just one List-A match to his name, was the unlikely top scorer with 34*, but the rest of Worcestershire's injury-hit lineup failed to contribute and they were never in the hunt.

Derbyshire v Durham

In the Northern group Derbyshire beat Durham in a nailbiting match at Derby. Neil Killeen took 4-32 as Derbyshire posted 157, and Gary Pratt then scored 62* but it wasn't enough, the visitors falling short with 151-5, despite Graeme Welch conceding 48 runs in his four overs.

Derbyshire currently have the fourth best record as we go into the final round of group games and another victory will surely see them progress ahead of Warwickshire to the finals.

Kent v Surrey

At Canterbury Surrey secured their place in the finals to be held at Trent Bridge with an eighteen run victory over Kent. Mark Ramprakash scored 53 and added 58 for the sixth wicket with Azhar Mahmood, who smashed five sixes in his 57*, the day after conceding the winning runs as England won the third Natwest Challenge Series match at Lords.

Mohammad Sami, also involved in that match, was making his Kent debut and his four overs cost 31 for the wicket of Ally Brown. Ed Smith scored a quick 56 for Kent but ran out of partners.

Middlesex v Hampshire

Elsewhere in the Southern section Ashley Noffke and Simon Cook took three wickets each as Hampshire were restricted to a modest 134-7. Dimitri Mascarenhas and Nic Pothas added 52 runs for the seventh wicket. Paul Weekes then scored 56 and with good support from Andy Strauss and Chad Keegan Middlesex overhauled Hampshires total with eight wickets and five overs to spare.

After kicking the whole thing off with victory over Sussex ten days ago Hampshire have the worst record in the competition.

Warwickshire 134-7 (Trott 65*) lost to Gloucestershire 135-2 (Harvey 100*) by 8 wickets.

Glamorgan 170-4 (Maynard 72, Powell 66*) beat Worcestershire 114 (Croft 3-32) by 56 runs.

Derbyshire 157 (Killeen 4-32) beat Durham 151-5 (G Pratt 62*) by 6 runs.

Surrey 186-8 (Mahmood 57*, Ramprakash 53) beat Kent 168-9 (Smith 56, Murtagh 3-37) by 18 runs.

Hampshire 134-7 (Cook 3-14, Noffke 3-22) lost to Middlesex 136-2 (Weekes 56) by 8 wickets.
