Irani may not bowl again

Ronnie Irani has been advised that he should not bowl again for the rest of his career due to his arthritis of the knee. This would effectively end his international career, if he takes up the advice.

Irani was included in the English World Cup squad which went to South Africa and played for his country as recently as the winter passed, in the VB Series in Australia. He has missed most of this year's domestic season due to injury but is expected to return to his county side, Essex, as a batsman.
