Surprise pick in WI team

They've done it again! The West Indian selectors have named 21 yr old Fidel Edwards in the provisional 14 for the 2nd Test match against Sri Lanka. Edwards has played just one FC match but apparently impressed captain Brian Lara in a net session ahead of the 3rd Test against Australia earlier this year.

The full sqaud is as follows:-
Brian Lara (capt), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vc), Chris Gayle, Wavell Hinds, Daren Ganga, Devon Smith, Marlon Samuels, Ridley Jacobs (wk), Omari Banks, Corey Collymore, Merv Dillon, Vasbert Drakes, Fidel Edwards, Jerome Taylor.

In Edwards' lone FC match for Barbados (played this year in the Carib Cup) he bowled 16 overs and took 1/53. The 2nd Test starts on Friday at Sabina Park.
