Razzaq Dumped

Abdur Razzaq was yesterday dumped from the Pakistani squad to tour England for 3 ODI matches.

Also sacked were opener Taufeeq Umar and batsman Faisal Iqbal in favour of Misbah-ul-Haq.

Umar, seen as the heir apparent to Saeed Anwar, has been replaced by Imran Nazir who receives yet another life from the cricketing gods.

Azhar Mahmood, meanwhile, has been granted another chance following some excellent displays in county cricket for Surrey.

Mahmood has always been a prodigious talent. His recall is welcome in the hope that he will fulfil his potential at the highest level.

However, Surrey teammate Saqlain Mushtaq was again overlooked, as was Inzamam-ul-Haq.

The only uncapped player in the squad is all-rounder Bilal Asad.
