John Scholes Dies

Former Victorian batsman and coach John Scholes has passed away, found dead in his Melbourne home on Monday.

Scholes played a number of matches for Victoria in a career that included 3 centuries.

He coached the state squad from 1997-2001 with great success in both forms of the game before resigning for personal reasons.

Scholes was also a successful AFL footballer, playing at the elite club level in Australia.

He is survived by his wife and children.
