Charity Case Warne

Monday, July 21 2003

Suspended Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne is allowed to play in Charity and Testimonial matches following a decision from Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketer's Association.

Warne, who is suspended until February, cannot take part in any 'organised' cricket such as grade or domestic matches.

He is now available to play for English side Lashings should he choose to take up their earlier offer.

The 'Sheik of Tweak' is currently in Darwin as a member of Channel 9's commentary team for the Bangladesh tour of Australia.
