Pakistan's Wasim Akram is unlikely to come out of retirement to make a farewell appearance against South Africa in October.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offered Wasim Akram a chance to play one last match, either in Karachi or in his hometown of Lahore. After he was one of eight players to be dropped as a result of the poor World Cup campaign.

Wasim Akram said

"I am grateful to the Pakistan board that they have offered me this final chance to play for Pakistan and in front of my home crowd, But I think once you have retired it is over.
