Bond to Come Home

Top New Zealand pace bowler Shane Bond has been forced home due to a potentially serious back injury.

Bond felt pain in his back during New Zealand's win against Pakistan in the Bank Alfalah cup.

While becoming the fastest bowler to 50 ODI wickets for New Zealand, he could only bowl 5 of his allotted 10 overs.

Early reports on his injury fear the worst - stress fractures in the lower back - the nemesis of all fast bowlers.

Should this be the case, his county season with Warwickshire is over and he would be doubtful for the away Test Series in India and the New Zealand home summer.
