New Zealand left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori is set to join Nottinghamshire on a month-long contract in July.
Vettori will cover for leg-spinner Stuart MacGill, who will be touring Bangladesh with Australia.

Vettori said: "I am really excited about playing in English cricket for the first time and meeting up with the Notts team. Trent Bridge is a world famous ground and I have always enjoyed playing in England.

"Notts are an ambitious club with close links to New Zealand cricket through Sir Richard Hadlee and Chris Cairns.

"I hope I can follow in their footsteps and make a significant contribution during July in both Notts' first class and one-day matches."

Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell added: "We are delighted that Daniel will be joining Notts. He is a world class spin bowler and useful lower order batsman with a proven record in English conditions.

"We have recognised for some time that July will be a crucial month in the Club's season with four NCL matches and three Championship fixtures.

"It was important to replace Stuart with a proven International spin bowler and Daniel's experience in both the four-day and one-day game at the highest level is a very important addition to our squad."

Vettori will make his debut for Notts in the first class tour match against India A at Trent Bridge on July 2.
