Bond:likely stress fracture
Tuesday, May 20 2003After returning home from Sri Lanka for a bone scan on his back, the outcome is a probable stress fracture for New Zealand Fast bowler Shane Bond.
Bond injured his back in a 5 over spell against Pakistan in New Zealands first match of the tri series also involving Sri Lanka.
More will be known after Shane has had a CT scan which will confirm the fracture and how serious it is. If it is a stress fracture then it would be the 4th one in the 27 year olds career.
It is not know yet how long Bond will be out of cricket for but he will not take up his English County contract with Warwickshire.
