Bond may be OK

Shane Bond's back injury may not be as bad as first feared. It was thought to be a stress fracture however Bond reports a different feeling to previous stress fractures. He said the injury had settled down by the time he left Sri Lanka and there was no stiffness.

It seems that the injury would be more likely to be disc related, and if this is so Bond will still be able to play for Warwickshire this county season. Warwickshire have been in touch daily since the injury, and Bond said they would be first to know about the extent of his injury.

Bond will have an MRI scan on Monday. If he does in fact have a stress fracture he will miss the county season, and probably the Indian tour later this year. He is prepared for bad news, and said he would be happy enough to rest at home in Christchurch with his wife.
