Australia 'A' have gained a nail biting 1 run victory in Perth following Brad Hodge's heroics with the bat against the touring South African 'A' side.

The Australians made a mammoth 6/304 in their 50 overs, largely thanks to 164 from 149 balls from Victorian Brad Hodge.

Keeper Ryan Campbell also contributed 65 to the mammoth total, rounding out a successful summer for the Western Australian.

For the South Africans, Dewald Pretorius, Charl Langeveldt, Justin Kemp, Nicky Boje and Adam Bacher took a wicket each.

South Africa 'A' then just fell an agonising single run short, with in-form Martin van Jaarsveld making 102.

Albie Morkel plundered 79, with Ashwell Prince made 47.

For the Australians, Damien Wright and Ian Harvey took 2 wickets each, while Stuart Clark and Nathan Hauritz snared a single scalp each.
