Swann Fractures Thumb

Sunday, July 27 2003

Northamptonshire's Graeme Swann had a major setback as he fractured his left thumb during the Northamptonshire's two-day Championship win over Somerset.

Graeme Swann sustained the injury when he tried to stop a drive from Australian overseas player Jamie Cox.

Graeme Swann had an X-ray yesterday morning (Friday) and as soon as the fracture showed up his hand was put in a cast, the injury could see the off spinner out of action for up to six weeks.
