Mahmood and Farhat dropped

In the wake of their resounding semi-final defeat at the 2004 Champions Trophy, the Pakistan limited over squad has undergone some changes ahead of the Paktel Cup. For the trinations tournament starting on September 30th, Pakistan has named a 15-man squad, but there is no room for opener Imran Farhat or allrounder Azhar Mahmood.

Recalled to action is batsman Misbah-ul-Haq, who has played 11 One Day Internationals, scoring 2 fifties and averaging 35.25 in the period. Joining him will be uncapped batsman Bazid Khan (List-A Batting Average 46.47) and seamer Iftikhar Anjum (List-A Bowling Average 31.50).

The Paktel Cup will also involve Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and kicks off on the 30th with Zimbabwe taking on the Pakistanis at Multan.
