Balaji ruled out of Trophy

India has lost it's second original member of the ICC Champions Trophy squad, Laxmipathy Balaji, as a result of an abdominal injury.

Balaji's injury initiated during the NatWest Challenge against England, and then worsened through the days after. He's experiencing muscle pain in his abdomen, and is being treated upon for the same.

Balaji will return home shortly. Amit Bhandari has already been named as his replacement, and will join the squad before their first match of the tournament.

India is already without Sachin Tendulkar, who had been ruled out with a tennis elbow, and consequently replaced by Rohan Gavaskar.
