Shabbir ruled out, Azhar brought in

Pakistan have recalled all-rounder Azhar Mahmood to their squad, to play in the ICC Champions Trophy in England, as a replacement for the injured Shabbir Ahmed.

Shabbir, an original member of the 14-member side, is suffering from a knee injury - a torn cartilage, and according to the doctors will need at least six weeks to recover.

Azhar, who has played 134 One-Day Internationals, is already in England playing for Surrey in the county circuit. He last played an International in January, and since then had been overlooked due to a prolonged lack of form.
