Malik reported with suspect action
Friday, October 22 2004Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, who has enjoyed outstanding form with both the bat and the ball in the last few months, was reported with a suspect bowling action during the Paktel Cup final against Sri Lanka.
This is the second time Malik's action has been questioned, the first being in 2002 during a triangular tournament in Sharjah.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named a five-man panel to work with Malik on his action, as he enters Phase 1 of the process in place for bowlers with a suspect action, according to which he can continue to play, while being in observation of the panel.
The body includes national coach Bob Woolmer, ex-Pakistan captain Waqar Younis, former spinner Ejaz Faqih and Australian Bruce Yardley.
