Wright retained as Indian coach

Tuesday, August 17 2004

The Indian cricket board has unsurprisingly retained it's most successful national team coach, John Wright, until September 2005, as both parties agreed to extend the contract for an year.

Wright, who has been in the office for four years now, was widely expected to continue the job. India's accomplishments under him relative to past ahievements have been phenomenal, which include a series win over Australia at home after being down and out, a drawn series against the same opposition in their own backyard, and reaching the World Cup 2003 Final.
