Tall right-handed paceman Dilhara Fernando, after having rehabbed for the frequent back problems that tortured his career, has earned a recall into the Sri Lankan side for next month's ICC Champions Trophy in England. He replaces Thilina Kandamby from the squad that played in the Asia Cup.

South Africa have named uncapped batsman JP Dumminy in their 14-member squad for the tournament. Apart from his inclusion, the only surprise is that of veteran seam bowler Alan Dawson's return to recognition at the international scene.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe still plagued by the crisis that hit a few months back as a result of Heath Streak's removal from the helm of affairs, have named the same inexperienced squad for the tournament, that was mauled at the hands of Sri Lanka and Australia at home. Tatenda Taibu, by far the most talented of all the youngsters thrust into the limelight, retains the captaincy.
