Hegg resigns as Lancs skipper

Wednesday, October 13 2004

Mark Chilton has been named as the captain of Lancashire for the next English county season, following Warren Hegg's resignation from the post.

Hegg however, will continue to play under Chilton, who average 32.36 in the 2004 Championship, medicore by his standards.

Chilton will be aided by his deputy, Stuart Law, who is hoping to gain his British citizenship by the start of the next season, so as to vacate a spot for an overseas player.
