SL advance to final

Sri Lanka advanced to the final of the Paktel Cup, after the fifth match of the tournament, pitting them against Zimbabwe was completely washed out due to rain.

Zimbabwe had to win the match to stay alive in the series. However, on the flip side, they didn't have to go through a mauling by the hands of the Sri Lankas to be sent crashing out, as expected.

The abandonment was only a formality after heavy showers on Sunday flooded the ground at Rawalpindi. Though conditions did improve by the time the umpires inspected them, the wet square and soggy bowling run-ups were enough to incline a calling off from the umpires.
