Simmons resigns as SA coach

Eric Simmons has resigned as the coach of the South African national team, after weeks of speculation over his future, following the side's dismal recent performances and especially stinging attack on his coaching style a few days back by unnamed players.

Simmons has been replaced by the A team coach, Ray Jennings, who will take over with immediate effect. He will do the job until the end of the country's tour to the Caribbean in May next year, after which a performance analysis will decide his long-term future.

The team manager, Tim Southey has also quit, and been replaced by Goolam Rajah.

As if South African cricket wasn't in enough turmoil, Gary Kirsten too resigned as the national selector, wanting to focus only on his job as High Performance Manager. He has been replaced on the panel by Joubert Strydom.
