Phil Jaques Re-Signs With Yorkshire

Tuesday, September 21 2004

Batsman Phil Jaques will return to Yorkshire in 2005 as one of clubs overseas players after a successful campaign where he scored 1,118 runs in just 19 innings.

Jaques efforts were even more impressive when put into context as he was only drafted in to provide cover for Ian Harvey and Darren Lehmann at various times during the 2004 season.

Jaques is likely to partner fellow Australian Ian Harvey next summer as first choice batsman Darren Lehmann will be with the national team in England trying to retain the Ashes.

Meanwhile at Headingley, Vic Craven and Andy Gray have both been released by Yorkshire after a disappointing campaign.
