Balaji to miss Aussie series
Saturday, September 18 2004Lakshmipathy Balaji, in all likeliness, will miss the forthcoming home Test series against Australia, as a result of his groin injury.
Indian team's physio Andrew Leipus has confirmed the same, saying the injured seam bowler will definitely miss up to two months of cricket, and in the worst case scenario might even need more time than that.
Balaji, who was also ruled of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy in England, is suffering from a bone inflammation on both sides of the pelvis. The physio has ruled out the use of pain-killers as a part of the recovery process, and is of the opinion that proper rest coupled with appropriate exercises is the only way ahead.
Balaji, who left England yesterday for India, also consulted Dr. Chris Bradshaw, who also recommended rehab process, in London through Leipus.
