Haddin Announced as Stopgap Skipper

Friday, September 17 2004

Wicket-keeper batsman Bradley Haddin has been announced as Simon Katich's vice-captain at New South Wales in the lead-up to the 2004-05 domestic season.

Haddin, having played 7 ODIs, stands as one of the most experienced members of the youthful Blues squad.

With Katich likely to be unavailable for much of the summer due to Test and possible ODI commitments, Haddin will get his first taste of the role in the opening rounds of the summer.

Haddin's appointment comes following speculation that fast bowler Matthew Nicholson was in line for the role.
