Agarkar ruled out of crucial clash
Monday, August 23 2004Cricket Web's beloved bowling all-rounder Ajit Agarkar has been ruled out of India's do-or-die match against Australia today in Amstelveen, Holland.
Agarkar, who was seemingly out of sorts, especially during the final overs of the Pakistan innings, during the miserable loss to the arch-rivals a couple of days back, is suffering from a side strain, which might even keep him out of the Finals if India go through.
Mohammed Kaif too is a doubt ahead of the crucial encounter, with a shoulder injury; so in case he doesn't pass fit, Dinesh Kartik would most likely get his debut match.
India are already without their most prolific batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who pulled out of the tournament ahead of the start, as a result of an inflammation on an elbow joint, while Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra had earlier been ruled out of the first match, because of respective viral infections.
