Darren Lehmann Passes The Test

Darren Lehmann has been passed fit to take his place in the Australia side for Thursday's first Test against New Zealand.

The 34-year-old left-hander missed the fourth Test in India with a hamstring injury but completed a series of sprinting and fielding drills at Brisbane.

"Yes, that's confirmed that he's fit to play. He trained really well," team spokesman Graeme Vimpani said.

Lehmann will take his place in the baggy green's line up in place of the unlucky Simon Katich, who played all four Tests in the series win in India.
