Mark Richardson Retires
Friday, December 10 2004Mark Richardson has announced that he will retire from all cricket following the State Championship game between Auckland and Canterbury next week.
Richardson has said he is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the required levels of intensity and now feels the time is right to look at new challenges. He says he hopes to pursue a career in journalism.
Richardson finished his test career having played 38 matches for 2776 runs at an average of 44.77 with four hundreds and 19 fifties.
His first class career netted him 9959 runs at an average of 42.92 with 20 hundreds and 48 fifties.
