Hall signs for Kent
Wednesday, December 8 2004South African all-rounder Andrew Hall has signed with English county Kent, to play for them in the 2005 English county season.
Hall, who recently hit 163 against India at Kanpur, his maiden Test century in 12 appearances, has had previous experience of county cricket, helping Worcestershire to two consecutive C&G trophy finals.
However, Hall will be able to join the county only in mid-May, after his country's tour to the West Indies.
Hall said, "I am very excited to be joining Kent next season and to be playing another season of English County Cricket. Kent has a squad capable of being competitive in all forms of cricket and I very much hope that I will be able to help them achieve success in 2005. Being a pivotal player in helping the squad deliver is very motivating."
Meanwhile, Matthew Walker has been named the vice-captain of the county side for the season.
