Pollock Reaches Milestone

Friday, December 3 2004

South African All-Rounder Shaun Pollock became only the fifth player in the history of the game to achieve the double of 300 wickets and 3,000 runs in Test cricket.

Pollock joined an exclusive club that includes only Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, Imran Khan and Sir Richard Hadlee when he made six during South Africa's second innings of the second Test in Kolkata.

Those six runs took Pollock to exactly 3,000 runs while he has also claimed 353 wickets from his 87 Test matches.

Indian All-Rounder Kapil Dev still heads the list though with his 5,248 runs and 434 wickets from 131 Tests.
