Bracken Annihilates Sorry SA
Friday, December 3 2004Nathan Bracken registered stunning bowling figures of 7 wickets for just 4 runs as New South Wales dismissed South Australia for a paltry 29 runs on day one of the four day Pura Cup match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Nathan Bracken's dream spell helped to dismiss the visitors for just 29 runs in 80 minutes and just 14.4 overs after South Australia had won the toss and decided to bat first.
None of South Australia's batsman were able to make double figures with the highest score of the innings Adcock's eight runs. Nicholson and Clark picked up the remaining three wickets between them.
Nathan Bracken easily eclipsed his previous best bowling effort of 5/22 when he dismissed the South Australian captain Graham Manou.
For those of you by now thinking that the pitch was obviously atrocious well think again as to make matters worse for the South Australians as New South Wales opener Phil Jaques went out and smashed 154 not out by the close of play on day one with the home side cruising at 233/2 and the visitors praying for the heavens to open and wash out at least the next two days of play!
Nathan Bracken's full figures were 7-5-4-7
