McGrath Rested, Lee In
Friday, December 3 2004Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath has been rested from the opening one-day match of the inaugural Chappell-Hadlee Trophy.
Glenn McGrath's replacement will be the express bowler Brett Lee, who hasn't featured in the Australian set up since the tour to Indian when he only managed to play in a tour game.
Although Lee has only played in just one domestic match this season history will be in his favour, as he seems to like facing New Zealand in their last meeting in the 2003 World Cup Lee took 5/42 to help win the game for Australia.
McGrath will rejoin the squad in Sydney for the second match of the series on Tuesday.
