Rampaul easing back to fitness

Monday, December 13 2004

Youth level star, Ravi Rampaul is set to return to competitive cricket soon with the staging of the Gerry Gomez North/South Classic, to be held on December 16th through 19th. The exhibition game will serve as a showcase for Trinidad and Tobago cricketers who vie for places in the 2005 Carib Beer Series squad.

The 20-year-old Rampaul was forced to abandon the tour of England earlier this year due to shin splints. He has been out of cricket since, but has recently returned to training with the Trinidad and Tobago squad and will suit up for South in the Gerry Gomez classic.

North will be led by Imran Jan and South by Daren Ganga. National stars such as the Ganga brothers, Denesh Ramdin, Mervyn Dillon, Ricardo Powell and Dwayne Bravo are all expected to feature.

The Carib Beer Series starts on January 7th.
