Week 1
Guyana v. Trinidad and Tobago
National Cricket Centre, Trinidad
Day 4
The game petered out to a draw after the first two days were lost to rain and 7.4 overs on the last day lost to bad light. Trinidad and Tobago just held on to the close at 120/7, in the battle for first innings points. This after Guyana was bowled out for 163 earlier.
Resuming on 87/3, Guyana's middle and lower order failed to contribute after the dismissal of overnight batsman Assad Fudadin (29) at 120/4. However, Narsingh Deonarine (48 overnight), held the innings together and notched a classy 93. On debut, Kyron Lynch starred and had figures of 4/22 from his 15.1 overs. Allrounder Richard Kelly (3/29) and part-time legspinner Samuel Badree (2/14) were also among the wickets.
In reply Trinidad and Tobago began well. Lendl Simmons (28) and Sherwin Ganga (34) ensured 53 runs for the first wicket, then the former was out just before tea. Sherwin was joined by his older brother Daren (18) and both were positive after the interval. Damodar Daesrath then took effect. 84/1 quickly became 90/3 with the two brothers back in the pavilion. Then the middle order collapsed dramatically and the score read 118/7.
Daesrath, captaining Guyana in only his second season of FC cricket, took 5 for 34. When play was called off, wicketkeeper Ramdin (15 not out) and Dave Mohammed (0 not out) were at the crease.
Narsingh Deonarine was named Man of the Match.

Leeward Islands v. Jamaica
Kaiser Sports Club, Jamaica
Days 2 and 3
Jamaica cruised to a comfortable first round victory over the Leeward Islands on the last day of the contest. Chasing 309 for victory, the Leewards resumed on a struggling 16/2 and were ultimately bowled out for just 132.
Early wickets tumbled against some impressive pace bowling by Daren Powell and Jerome Taylor. Runako Morton (15) dragged a Taylor offering onto his stumps to start the slide. From 44/2 before the wicket, 4 wickets were lost for 13 runs and the score slipped to 57/6.
Sylvester Joseph (8) cut Powell to backward point, then Omari Banks (0) was trapped LBW the next ball. Soon after Tonito Willett (9) edged Dave Bernard jr. to second slip and the crisis was evident. The experience of the side, Ridley Jacobs (32) and Stuart Williams (31) were made to rebuild. They did so with a partnership of 59, but it was far too little too late.
Williams skied legspinner Odean Brown to long-on right after lunch, then the same bowled got Carl Simon (1) and Ridley Jacobs. The final wicket went to Dave Bernard jr. and he finished with 2/25. Almost all the bowlers were successful though, as Jerome Taylor (3/14), Odean Brown (3/22) and Daren Powell (2/25) all featured nicely. Only Nikita Miller (0/20) and Tamar Lambert (0/13) did not strike.
For his match figures of 8/36, Jerome Taylor was named Man of the Match.
