Pietersen added to ODI squad
Saturday, January 15 2005Hants batsman Kevin Pietersen has been called up to the England ODI squad to take on South Africa in a seven-match series, to take place following the on-going Test series.
Pietersen, born and brought up in South Africa, has been playing on the English county circuit for the last four years, which resulted in him being qualified to play for England.
Pietersen has already represented English colours though, having played in a five-match ODI series in Zimbabwe, in the second match of which he scored a match-winning 77 at more than a run-a-ball.
The ODI series gets under way on January 30 at Johannesburg, three days prior to which England play their only warm-up one-dayer.
