Leeward Islands v. Jamaica
Kaiser Sports Club, Jamaica
Days 2 and 3

The Leeward Islands slipped to the back seat of their match against Jamaica, with two unproductive days of batting and bowling. Responding to 188 in the first innings, the Leewards batsmen managed just 150 between them in their first innings. This featured a stunning collapse from 99/2 to 116/8 and then the ultimate total.

Runako Morton (50) and Sylvester Joseph (35) were the only two standouts, adding 97 for the second wicket after Shane Jeffers (0) and Stuart Williams (2) were dismissed early in the piece. Jerome Taylor was the main instrument of destruction for Jamaica The pace bowler, returning from injury, claimed 5/22. Spinner Nikita Miller had 4/48.

Jamaica went to stumps at 39/3, with Shawn Findlay (8) and Maurice Kepple (12) out to Wilden Cornwall, and Ingram to Banks for 1.

On the third day Jamaica lost nightwatchman Miller (2) early, but Donavan Pagon (55), Tamar Lambert (70) and Dave Bernard jr. (76) assisted the score to a good 270 all out. Cornwall (3/18) was the best bowler statistically, but Adam Sanford (3/63) and Tonito Willett (2/12) also prospered. Omari Banks, however, was slammed for 84 runs in his 20 overs, taking just 1 wicket.

Chasing 309 to win, the Leewards met early trouble again. Jeffers (8) was bowled by a quick Jerome Taylor delivery, then Wilden Cornwall trapped in front by the same bowler. At stumps the Leewards were 16/2 and in trouble. Runako Morton 3 not out) and Sylvester Joseph (1 not out) will resume on the final day.
