Powell recalled, Hinds injured

One Day International specialist, Ricardo Powell has been recalled to the West Indies squad before a ball was bowled without him there. Powell was sacked from the squad which won the Champion's Trophy, for the VB series 14. However, he now returns at the expense of an injured Ryan Hinds.

Hinds sustained a groin injury in the recent warmup game against Victoria and will no longer participate in the series. Instead Powell will join the team, leaving the Caribbean this weekend.

Word is that Hinds may be treated in Australia, ensuring that he stay with the party for a period of time.

Powell has forged an explosive reputation, with his career ODI strike rate of 98.20, but has struggled for consistent substantial scores. His average of 26.28 with the bat is clear testament to this fact.
