Arnold & Chandana return for SL
Liam Camps |Sri Lanka have recalled four players to the one-day international squad, due to tour India next month. The 15-man party includes Russel Arnold, Nuwan Zoysa, Upul Chandana and Nuwan Kulsakera. All four will hope to press for inclusion in the World Cup squad, as the tournament kicks off in March.
The experienced pairing of Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan have been excluded, carrying minor injuries. Also excluded are Chamara Kapugedera and Ruchira Perera.
Both Arnold and Chandana have been in exceptional form domestically and for Sri Lanka ‘A’ in recent months and will hope to reproduce that form at the highest level. The two will aim to displace their counterparts Kapugadera and Bandara in the Sri Lanka team ahead of the World Cup.
Neither Chandana nor Zoysa have played for Sri Lanka since 2005, whilst Arnold and Kulsakera last played international cricket in England in March of last year.
The 4-match series against India begins on February 8.
